Multi-Channel Money Transfer Terms of Service

Effective Date: May 12, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Agreement") govern your access to and use of Safebridge Transfers Inc. ("Safebridge Remit", "we", "our") services across all delivery channels, including mobile applications, web platforms, and in-person kiosks.

By using any Safebridge Remit service, you agree to this Agreement.

1. Scope of Services

Safebridge Remit provides domestic and international money transfer services through:

1.1 Digital Channels
  • Mobile applications
  • Web-based accounts
1.2 Physical Channels
  • Authorized agent locations
  • Self-service or assisted kiosks
1.3 Remittance Networks

Transfers may be executed through:

  • Canadian payment systems (e.g., Interac-based services)
  • International payment networks (e.g., Mastercard-enabled transfer rails)
  • Traditional banking systems (e.g., SWIFT or correspondent banking networks)
  • Licensed third-party processors

Safebridge Remit acts as a facilitator and does not control all stages of processing once funds enter external networks.

2. User Responsibilities Across Channels

You agree that:

2.1 Accuracy of Information

All information provided, whether through mobile app, website, or kiosk agent, must be:

  • accurate
  • complete
  • current

You are responsible for confirming all details before finalizing a transfer.

2.2 Channel-Specific Risks

You acknowledge:

  • App/Web: You are responsible for device security, password protection, and account access.
  • Kiosk/Agent: You must verify printed receipts and transaction confirmations before leaving the location.

Safebridge Remit is not responsible for errors caused by incorrect data entry or failure to verify details.

3. Transfer Processing and Delivery

3.1 Execution Pathways

Transfers may involve:

  • multiple intermediaries
  • international clearing processes
  • compliance checks and screening

Processing times are estimates only and are not guaranteed.

3.2 Fees and Deductions

Additional deductions may occur due to:

  • intermediary banks
  • payment networks
  • receiving institutions

Safebridge Remit does not control or guarantee third-party fees.

3.3 Remittance Corridor Variability

Different countries ("corridors") may have:

  • different processing times
  • regulatory requirements
  • limits on amounts or recipients

Availability of services may change without notice depending on local conditions.

4. Finality of Transactions

All confirmed transfers are:

  • final and binding
  • not cancelable or reversible

This applies across:

  • app transactions
  • online payments
  • kiosk/agent-initiated transfers

Safebridge Remit may attempt recovery only where feasible, without guarantee.

5. Identity Verification and AML Compliance

Safebridge Remit operates as a registered Money Services Business (MSB) in Canada and complies with:

  • Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA)
  • FINTRAC regulations
5.1 Identity Verification

You may be required to provide:

  • government-issued ID
  • biometric or digital verification (for app/web users)
  • in-person verification (for kiosk transactions)
5.2 Monitoring and Reporting

Safebridge Remit may:

  • monitor transactions in real time
  • delay or reject transactions pending review
  • file mandatory reports with FINTRAC

This includes:

  • large cash transactions
  • suspicious activity
  • international electronic funds transfers
5.3 Record Retention

Your personal and transaction data may be stored as required by law.

6. Sanctions and Restricted Use

You agree not to use Safebridge Remit services:

  • for illegal purposes
  • to send money to sanctioned countries or individuals
  • to bypass financial controls or reporting requirements

Safebridge Remit may block transactions based on sanctions screening and regulatory obligations.

7. Currency Exchange

For international transfers:

  • exchange rates are displayed before confirmation
  • you must approve the rate before processing

Rates are set in coordination with liquidity providers and partners.

If market conditions change significantly, Safebridge Remit may cancel the transfer and return funds.

8. Limits and Risk Controls

Safebridge Remit may apply:

  • per-transaction limits
  • daily / weekly caps
  • corridor-specific limits

Limits may vary based on:

  • user profile
  • verification level
  • delivery channel (app vs kiosk)

Limits may change at any time.

9. Consumer Protection (Canada / British Columbia)

Safebridge Remit provides:

Clear disclosure of:
  • total fees
  • exchange rates
  • expected delivery method
Access to:
  • transaction history (digital channels)
  • printed or digital receipts (kiosk transactions)
Complaint handling:
  • Users may contact Safebridge Remit regarding disputes or errors
  • Investigations will be conducted within reasonable timeframes

Consumers in British Columbia and other provinces may have additional rights under provincial consumer protection laws.

10. Errors and Unauthorized Transactions

You must notify Safebridge Remit immediately if you suspect:

  • incorrect recipient details
  • unauthorized account activity
  • missing funds

Delays in reporting may limit your ability to recover funds.

Safebridge Remit is not responsible for errors caused by incorrect input at any channel.

11. Data Use and Third-Party Sharing

To operate the service, Safebridge Remit may share information with:

  • payment networks (e.g., Interac, Mastercard-type systems)
  • banking partners
  • compliance and fraud detection providers
  • regulators and law enforcement

All information is handled in accordance with:

  • Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA)
  • applicable data protection regulations

12. Availability of Channels

Safebridge Remit does not guarantee that:

  • app or web services will be uninterrupted
  • kiosk locations will always be operational
  • specific corridors will remain available

Access may be limited due to:

  • maintenance
  • third-party outages
  • regulatory restrictions

13. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Safebridge Remit is not liable for:

  • delays caused by intermediaries
  • foreign exchange fluctuations
  • third-party processing failures
  • losses resulting from incorrect customer instructions

Liability is limited to fees paid for the affected transaction unless law requires otherwise.

14. Termination and Service Restrictions

Safebridge Remit may suspend or terminate access:

  • upon suspected fraud or misuse
  • to comply with legal obligations
  • for breach of this Agreement

15. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by:

  • Laws of the Province of British Columbia
  • Applicable federal laws of Canada

16. Dispute Resolution

Disputes will be handled:

  1. Through internal review
  2. Through Canadian courts in British Columbia if unresolved

17. Amendments

Safebridge Remit may update these Terms at any time.

Continued use of any channel (app, web, kiosk) constitutes acceptance of updated terms.

19. Privacy Policy (PIPEDA-Compliant)

19.1 Commitment to Privacy

Safebridge Transfers Inc. is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with:

  • Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA)
  • Applicable provincial privacy laws (including British Columbia legislation where applicable)
19.2 Information We Collect

We may collect personal information across all service channels (mobile app, web platform, kiosk/agent), including:

  • Government-issued identification
  • Address and contact details
Financial and Transaction Information
  • Source of funds
  • Transaction history
  • Recipient details
Technical and Usage Information
  • IP address, device identifiers
  • App and website usage activity
  • Location data (where required for fraud detection)
19.3 Purpose of Collection

Your personal information is collected and used for:

  • Processing and completing Transfers
  • Identity verification and customer due diligence
  • Compliance with AML/FINTRAC obligations
  • Fraud prevention and risk management
  • Customer service and support

Safebridge Remit limits collection to what is reasonably necessary for these purposes.

19.4 Consent

By using Safebridge Remit services (app, web, kiosk), you consent to:

  • The collection, use, and disclosure of your information
  • Sharing information with necessary third parties to complete transactions

You may withdraw consent where legally permitted, but doing so may limit access to services.

19.5 Disclosure of Information

Your information may be shared with:

  • Financial institutions and payment networks (e.g., Interac-type systems, international payment rails)
  • Intermediary processors and liquidity providers
  • Identity verification and fraud detection partners
  • Regulatory authorities (including FINTRAC)
  • Law enforcement where required by law

Cross-border transfers may result in your information being processed outside Canada, where different privacy laws may apply.

19.6 Safeguards

Safebridge Remit applies reasonable safeguards, including:

  • Encryption for digital transactions
  • Secure data storage systems
  • Access controls and monitoring
  • Staff training on data protection

However, no system can be guaranteed fully secure.

19.7 Retention of Information

Personal information is retained:

  • As required by law (including FINTRAC record-keeping obligations)
  • For as long as necessary to fulfill service and compliance requirements
19.8 Access and Correction

You may request:

  • Access to your personal information
  • Correction of inaccuracies

Requests must be submitted through Safebridge Remit contact channels.
